Ugyen Chopel, owner of the hotel is a renowned Nepali Film Director who is making in roads in Bollywood. In the year 2000, the Nepal Government honored him by bestowing the Best Director of the Decade Award. He also happens to be the nephew of Danny Denzongpa who is a famous film actor from Sikkim.
